  1. Henry Potter & Co.; Bugle: Newcastle Regional Museum; This is a musical instrument made of brass and copper. The tube itself is copper and is coiled twice upon itself, having a flared opening at one end. This end has a brass sleeve around the tube. The other end has a smaller opening where a removable silver mouthpiece is inserted. This mouthpiece is attached to the bugle by a small length of chain. There are brass sleeves around the copper tube at various intervals. The bugle is inscribed with the war service record of Walter Barton. Wrapped around the coil, is a green plaited rope., Inscription: "2256; BUGLER W. BARTON; D.COY. 2ND BATTALION; 1ST INF. BDE.
