The image on the front cover is three mountain peaks receeding into the background and four fir trees also receeding into the background. Across this scene there is a stalk of wheat and in the bottom right corner are is a yellow tag with the words a guide to (green printing) better baking (red printing). On the back there is a red dot with three black lines circling it, in the dot are the words McAlpin's test kitchen recipies printed in bold white letter. There are twenty four iusstrations in the book, eight of which are in colour the rest are in black and white. Book contains one hundred and seventy six recipies.
