Decoration: On side A, four figures advance to the right: a nude Papposilen, with a white beard, holds a cista in his left hand, a thyrsos--from which dangles a female mask--over his left shoulder, and raises his hand above his head. Dionysos, half-draped, rides on the back of a panther. He wears a himation draped over his hips and legs, holds a wreath in his right hand, and in his left hand a thyrsos, also with a female mask. A maenad, shown in near profile, wearing a belted, sleeveless tunic and a wreath, plays a flute which she holds with both hands. A nude satyr boy who holds a flute in his upraised left hand, reaches his right hand to the maenad behind him. On side B two figures stand on either side of a goose: a standing woman, shown 3/4-view to the right, wears a belted peplos. She holds a phiale in her left hand, at waist level, and raises her right arm above her shoulder. Behind her is a short stele. Opposite her stands Eros, profile to the left, nude except a wreath, who holds a wreath in his lowered right hand, and a phiale in his upraised left hand.
