Inscriptions:

Black dipinti name all characters, among other inscriptions. On side A, behind Herakles, is Exekias' signature, ECHSEKIASEPOIESE, "Exekias made it."

Also on side A: to the right of Herakles's head, ÊERAKLES ("Herakles"); above Eurytion's body, retrograde, EURUTION, "Eurytion"; between the legs of Geryon, GERUONE[S], "Geryon"; on the right side, a kalos inscription, STESIÔSKALOS, "Stesios is beautiful."

On side B, to the right of Anchippos' head, ANCHIPOS, "Anchippos"; to the right of the siren, the name of one horse, [...]SEMOS; in the top right, the name of another horse, PUROKOM[...]; in the bottom right, the name of a third horse: KALI*&koppa;OME[...]; and beneath the belly of the foremost horse, KALIPHORA.

Collection History: Acquired by the Louvre in 1883.
