Decoration:

Ext.: The rim is painted with a thin band of black glaze, below which is a reserved band, taking up one third of the bowl, then another strip of black glaze, a reserved band, and the lower third of the bowl is black. The high pedestal is black, and the stepped foot is reserved on its vertical sides.

Int.: The tondo is enclosed by a border of 65 red and black tongues, separated by relief lines. There are four inner and four outer concentric circles. The maenad is on the left, running to the left. She turns back toward the satyr, holding up both hands to defend herself from his advances. Her skin is painted white, and she wears a fillet with white flowers in her hair, and a necklace. The bodice and lower skirt of her peplos are red; her overskirt is black and decorated with white rosettes that have red centers. The ithyphallic satyr moves toward her, with his right leg high in the air. He wears a white flowered fillet in his hair and two white hypothymides (necklaces) strung crosswise from shoulder to waist over his hairy body. He also has a smaller garland of white flowers around the crook of his left arm. His beard, fillet, and the glans of his penis are painted red.
