Decoration: Side A: at the center, a bearded trainer stands between two nude youths identified as hoplitodromoi by the shield and helmet on the ground at right. The helmet is Attic and the shield device is encircled dots. The trainer holds a wand in his right hand, only the butt of which is left reserved, the rest accidentally glazed over behind the youth at left. The youth at left has clenched fists. The youth at right walks to the right with his right hand clenched. Side B: at left, a youth in a himation is leaning on a staff to the right, gesturing at a mantled boy and offering him a purse. The boy at center gestures with his hand and pulls his mantle taut. At right, a bearded man in a himation leans on a staff and strokes his beard. Above each scene are three linked black palmettes flanked by animals in black silhouette. On side A are a boar and a lion. On side B are a lion and a leopard. The side frames on both sides are dot bands. There is a pair of red stripes around the mid-body. Collection History: Tampa Museum of Art, Joseph Veach Noble Collection. Condition: Surface pocking form lime inclusion expansion and pitting on lower body.
