Decoration: Side A: woman (goddess). A woman stands facing right holding a tall scepter. Her other hand is on her hip. She wears a chiton and himation, her hair in a sakkos.
Side B: woman (goddess). A woman stands facing right, her head turned to the left. She holds a scepter in her left hand; her right hand is held at her waist. She is wearing a chiton and himation and a sakkos.
Inscriptions: Side A: EPIKTETOS EGRAPHSEN, Epiktetos painted it (or me). On Side B: EPIKTETO[S] EGRAPHSEN, Epiktetos painted it (or me). These inscriptions have been shown to be modern forgeries, however: see Richter 1936, 112-115; and J. Boardman, "Epiktetos II, R.I.P.," AA (1981) 329-31.
Condition: Some loss of the surface glaze, particularly on the handles and rim of the vase.
