Polar coordinates.

Instead of being based on perpendicular lines like Cartesian coordinates, polar coordinates are based on circles and angles. In polar coordinates, there is an origin, but only one axis(a ray). The position of points is then determined by recording the distance from the origin(AC), and the angle BAC. Conversion between the two coordinate systems can be accomplished using the following formulas.
